50 / 70 / 90 mean encoder quality parameters. They do not measure preserved detail. PNG optimization is lossless without resizing; JPEG and WebP re-encoding is lossy.

Canvas exports always remove descriptive metadata. Preservation is available only for PNG without resizing; unchecking may retain GPS/private information. PNG color profiles and minimal orientation are retained to preserve appearance.

Exact target size cannot always be guaranteed. JPEG/WebP quality search uses actual bytes. No automatic resizing is applied.

Limits: 20 files; 30 MiB each; 150 MiB input; 24 MP and 8192 px per side; PNG inflated data 96 MiB; retained output 200 MiB. Animated images are rejected.

How compression works

Search iteratively for the highest tested JPEG or WebP quality under an approximate byte limit. Exact target size cannot always be guaranteed. Dimensions are changed only if you enable resizing.

Compression reduces file bytes; lossy encoding discards detail and lossless optimization preserves samples. Resolution changes only when resizing is enabled. Already optimized files may grow. Keep originals and compare real outputs.
